EdPi is an online learning platform for college students that offers a wealth of learning contents to its registered users on multiple topics such as–Math, Geography, History, Philosophy etc. The users can take mock tests (in MCQ format) to evaluate their learning. They can also access assistance from an integrated chatbot while taking the tests.

Design Challenge

The challenge was to design the online platform (both for mobile and web) to access the learning contents and MCQ tests, and seamlessly integrate the AI chat assistance within the system. In addition to that a performance dashboard was required to analyse the tests taken and get recommendations for improvement. The learning system also has gamification features that visualise the achievements and ranks of different users.

Core Functionalities

Data Visualisation: EdPi web application visualises user data in the form of data dashboard. The homepage contains data of all users and their activities such as–Total number of students participating in the tests, Popular test category etc. There is a second dashboard for the user that provides performance report on taken test and mock test recommendation based on the individual strength and weakness.

MCQ test: Users can choose from an array of topic categories and sub-categories to generate MCQs. The user/student must answer a question in order to proceed to the next question. There is no way to skip any question.

AI Chat assistant: During the test, the user can chat with an AI assistant to get help regarding answering the question. Every chat session can be saved in the form of threads or Chat index that are searchable within the system.

Gamification: The test participation is rewarded in the form of different achievement badges and coins to differentiate between the status of the students. The achievements can be shared on various social media platforms.
